It’s been awhile since there are updates. Few weeks back, we’ve got a new addition.. a carpet of a different kind.
My family cat, Posh! Gorgeous?
I foresee few additions to the house soon, let’s see how it goes.
What was lacking in our masterbedroom? Bedside lamps. Bedside lamps = bedtime reading w/o disturbing my other half & getting into the mood!
While shopping in Great World City for knick knacks for Hari Raya, I decided to pay Lifestorey a visit. To those who are unaware of Lifestorey, this multi brand furniture shop carries cool Kartell furniture apart from the other cool brands.
When I stepped in, Lifestorey was in the middle of their sale. Kartell were on 10% for 1st item & 50% off on the 2nd identical one. I’ve always wanted to get their Kartell Bourgie lamp, however there’s nowhere in the house where that beauty would fit in. Next the Take lamp by Kartell caught my eye. Within seconds the decision was made!
Got our hands on 2 dark grey Take Kartell lamps (salesman said so, seems black to me) & a Dune tray, design Mario Bellini.
At certain angles it shows 2 bulbs when it uses only 1.
Taken in the dark.
I’m a happy man!
To all our Muslim readers, Selamat Hari Raya Puasa.
To others in Singapore, have a great long weekend!
Check out our coffee table & rug! After nearly 10wks, they decided to enter our home. The decision to drop the 3tiered table for this, was indeed a good one.
The table is solid & heavy, thanks to the thick tempered glass.
Check out the legs, which I so love.
Here’s another angle, from the sofa.
The rug was purchased on impulse, much like the other stuffs in the house. We’re glad it matches the whole living room especially the wallpaper on the tv wall.
Lush, thanks for these furnitures, we love them.
Here’s the overall look. I just love the whole vibe of it!
While chilling in my living room, the thought of noguchi came to my mind.. I’m sure some of you have this feeling deep down when you decided against purchasing something, be it that shirt you liked, that pair of shoes that caught your eye, that girl you didn’t chat up.. Yes that’s what I had!
Took out my measuring tape, measured here & there, picked up my hp and dialled Lush. They allowed the change & off I went!
Arrived at Lush, met the salesperson, made the necessary changes & kachiiiing! Took pics of the initial choice & the new love I dumped her for!
She’s a beauty..
Check out her legs..

Seems like the furniture stores are starting their mid year sales! Time to get your cards & your $$$$ ready!
This afternoon, I decided to alt-tab away from my work documentations. I looked at Lush’s facebook, behold..30% sale storewide yo! THIRTY PERCENT! When the time struck 12:00pm, I got into my trusted car and whizzed to Lush, a 15min drive away. So many nice things but only 1 tiny house to decorate.
As we were in need of a coffee table, I looked at all the tables on display. We loved a table called, Noguchi, hopefully that’s the correct spelling, however it’s huge for the small space we’ve got for a tiny table. Anything big and the whole area will look cramped. At last, I decided on a set of 3 separate black glass tables. Simple and serves the purpose of a coffee table!
However it’ll only be ready & delivered within 2months, as they have limited stocks, and they’ve to make upon order. As I was in a rush, I forgot to take pics of it..
Talk about impulse shopping..
Do drop by Lush for your furniture fixes
Stay tuned for product pics when it arrives!
At last someone decides to bake something in the oven. Let’s hope it turns out well & goes down well into my forever hungry tummy!
We apologize for the lack of updates. Work has shifted gear & there’s not much changes in the home. Do follow us, we hope to update the blog often with nice articles.

Getting your keys? Got your Keys? Excited Much? Interior Designer or Contractor?
We had that dilemma when we were looking around for ours. People will tell you Interior Designers will have marked up prices as they would have to design & you’re paying for their creativity. I’ve read blogs who spent a bomb on ID firms & it turned out SPECTACULAR! ID firms will also engage their pool of contractors to do the hard labour.
If you’ve got direct contacts with contractors, I’m sure you can save a lot for your renovation, provided you’ve the time to coordinate the various parties. Informing the carpenters to only come in after the painter has done all the walls but only after the tiler has settled all the tiles & wet works. Then when would you need the plumber to come in, and also the electrician? Should the electrician come in after carpentry or shoud they work with the carpenters? Do you want wallpapers, when should they come in? After the walls have dried? After carpentry is up? If this confuses you, skip this route! HAHA! Let me warn you, explaining & coordinating contractors can induce vomiting of blood!
You need a clear mind with a detailed plan & lots of time in hand!
So we decided to go with an ID, NOT for their designs but for their coordination, domain knowledge, project planning & contractor contacts. Thankfully the missus shared the same sentiments & off we went on this adventure. Being the controlled freak that I am, I wanted to dictate the project from start to end, from the designs, running of cables, practically everything. 5647023 questions, and countless “Is this feasible? If not why? Else make it happen” “This is possible!” If I was my ID, I would be pissed.. Ha Ha!
Now don’t judge, I’m not that customer from hell, my ID can vouch for me! We just have standards.
Yes, as a homeowner, you’ve the right the ask your ID/contractor to redo stuffs if it’s of shoddy workmanship. You’ve got to have standards.
If that conduit ain’t straight, redo! If that conduit ain’t nicely cut at a 45deg angle and joined neatly, redo! If that drawer ain’t smooth or straight, redo! If that paint ain’t smooth, redo!
Engaging a contractor or an Interior Designer, problems there will be.
So have you decided, contractor or ID?
The countless nights of discussions, negotiation & arguments have finally come to an end. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude & thanks for all the support & professionalism rendered by Tony & his team of contractors from I.D. Note Design & Build.
From the start of the project, he understood what we wanted for our home, accommodated our wishes & made our vision come to life. The days & nights we spent deciding on laminates, floor tiles, carpentry, definitely burnt our brain cells, but Tony & Ivy made the whole process easier with their opinions & knowledge. We definitely made the right choice & our house puts a smile on our face every moment we’re in it.
Once again, Tony, our interior designer, our friend, a million thanks from the bottom of our hearts!
